On the subject of hoteliers reportedly threatening to sue the Ministry for non-payment of bills owed them as a result of housing stakeholders in the 2023 African Games, the Minister stated,
“We engaged 44 hotels during the African Games and as we speak, only 28 of them that Ministry owe. The rest have all been paid full 100%… the report (of non-payment of bills to hotels) is not accurate. Then the 28 that are left that we are still owing, all of them we have paid them more than 40% and as and when we receive funding… the rest of the payment will be catered for.”
