Your time will be divided between developing the build system (using Python, Jenkins, and shell), operating our continuous delivery pipelines, implementing cloud-related features within Ubuntu Server, and interacting directly with partners.
To support all contemporary workloads, from web servers to GPU-assisted AI for servers, virtual machines, and containers, you will work to simplify the delivery of both new and current Ubuntu products. You will also link our products with cloud-native services.

Duties
- Create extremely dependable, automated pipelines for image supply, testing, and publication.
- Create, implement, and integrate new features and upgrades into Ubuntu to support Ubuntu users in public clouds.
- Work proactively together as a remote team.
- Write coding of the highest caliber to add new features.
- Create and plan intricate new systems and cloud integrations.
- Debugging problems and writing well-written code to resolve them
- Evaluate other engineers’ code and take part in design discussions.
- Work from home while traveling the world for both internal and external activities, for two to four weeks.
- Interact with the open source community, business partners, and numerous other teams at Canonical.
Requirements
- You enjoy working with intelligent people and enjoying technology.

- You possess a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, STEM, or a related field, or an equivalent, and you have firsthand experience working with public clouds.
- At least three of the following interests and areas of expertise in any of the following: cloud-based apps, Devops automation, open source projects, APIs, Linux system administration, Python packaging, and containers (docker, kubernetes, etc.).
- A minimum of Linux software development experience using Python
