Former President John Dramani Mahama has pledged to restore the economy, create jobs, and ensure accountability if elected in the December 7, 2024, general elections.
Speaking at the official launch of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) 2024 campaign at the Jubilee Park in Tamale, Mahama outlined his vision for Ghana’s future.
Addressing a large and enthusiastic crowd, Mahama assured Ghanaians that his government would work tirelessly to return the economy to its former glory. He emphasized the importance of job creation and infrastructure investment, particularly for the youth, as key strategies for economic restoration. “Creating jobs and investing in infrastructure that will provide opportunities for the teeming Ghanaian youth population will guarantee an economic restoration,” he stated.
In addition to economic promises, Mahama also highlighted the need for accountability in public service. He vowed to investigate past officials accused of wrongdoing, stating, “My government will investigate past officials who have been accused of wrongdoing and if found guilty, they will be prosecuted.”
The campaign launch attracted supporters from across the country, eager to hear Mahama’s plans and vision for Ghana. The event set a hopeful tone for the NDC’s campaign as they prepare for the upcoming elections.
