The remains of the Manager of Finance in charge of Cost and Management Department at GBC in Accra, Joseph Ahumah Quarshie Otum, have been interred at the Achimota cemetery in Accra.
The late Joseph Quarshie’s work with the corporation started in the Central Region in 2005 after his National Service with the regional station.
A tribute by the GBC Finance Division described Joseph Quarshie as a remarkable individual who was not only their colleague but also a cherished friend to many.
JQ, as they affectionately called him, left an indelible mark in their lives, both professionally and personally.
In a tribute by staff of the Finance Division, JQ was always ready to offer a helping hand, especially with document retrieval and extreme engagement with external auditors. The late Joseph Quarshie was also the Head of the GBC Divisional Union of the PSWU Audit Committee for four years. In a tribute by the former Acting Divisional Secretary, Christian Akoto, Joe Quarshie always scrutinised the accounts of the Divisional Union, and that kept the exectives on their toes.
The Director of Finance, Francis Anaba and Acting Director of Radio, Yaw Opoku Agyapong, joined other staff of GBC to bid him farewell. He was 49 years old. Joe Quarshie left behind two children.
