Head coach of the Ghana National Women’s Under 20 Football Team (the Black Princesses), Yussif Basigi, says his absence won’t affect Hasaacas Ladies FC’s CAF Women’s Champions League campaign.
He said this in his media address as the Black Princesses continue to prepare for the 2024 FIFA Under 20 Women’s World Cup in Colombia from August 31 to September 22.
Basigi, who doubles as head coach of the Sekondi side, made it clear that despite his absence from Hasaacas’ camp, the team has able assistants to steer them through the WAFU Zone B Zonal qualifiers from August 10 to August 23.
Hasaacas Ladies will know its qualification fate to the main competition when the draw is conducted on Wednesday, July 24 at the CAF Headquarters in Cairo, Egypt.
“We are okay. For me, I have able assistants taking care of Hasaacas Ladies and I’m very comfortable here too and we cooperate a lot. We do discuss about the training schedule and believe they would live up to expectation. So I think they are up to the task so I think I don’t have much concern about that.”
Hasaacas Ladies won Ghana’s Women’s Premier League title last season. He added that the Black Princesses are motivated end its run of failure to qualify beyond the group stage. (Click highlighted text to read full story)
