Our goal is to conquer West, Central Africa and push to the world level- Ghana Swimming President

President of the Ghana Swimming Association, Delphina Quaye, has communicated that the goal of the association is to lead in Zone 2 that is made up of West and Central African nations then move on to the African and world stage.

She said this in an interview with Channel One Sports on the sidelines of the Channel One TV National Swimming Championship which took place at the Borteyman Sports Complex on July 13 and 14.

The two-day competition had Legon Sharks end as the overall best team ahead of GH Dolphins and last year’s winners Marlins Swim Club.

After expressing how hopeful she is about Ghana’s future in the sport, the Swimming Association President took a cautious approach on turning that hope into reality. (Click highlighted text to read full story)

“We are happy we are seeing this because you see our first goal is to conquer Zone 2 which is West African and Central Africa combined; that is our zone. If we are able to lead our zone, then we know we are on to something then from there we can go to Africa and then the world at large.”

Ghana Swimming Association President, Delphina Quaye

“We are happy; I’m seeing very good results and I feel good because with the age at which they are now, it means we have more prospects for the future.”
