Over 8.6 million tickets for the upcoming Paris Olympic Games have been bought by fans worldwide. According to the latest data released by the Local Organizing Committee, the multi sporting event is expected to have 8.6 million people trooping to the various centres to enjoy the games when it officially starts on July 26, 2024.
This figure surpasses the record of 8.3 million tickets sold for the Atlanta Games in 1996, which until now had held the highest number.
“We have already exceeded those numbers for some time. Right now, we are at 8.6 million for the Olympic programme and have sold over 1 million for the Paralympic programme,” stated Tony Estanguet, president of the organising committee for the Olympics.
Interested parties can discover excellent options to attend the opening and closing ceremonies of the Games, which will include a variety of musical, visual, and dance performances, to earn a wide range of pricing.
The price of tickets for key ceremonies, including the opening ceremony, started at $90, though this amount is predicted to go up as the event date gets closer because it’s a highly anticipated event that nobody wants to miss.
Also, users can also purchase “hospitality packages,” which provide a plethora of extra premium and VIP options, including lodging, personalised attention, access to private areas, and catering services, on top of guaranteed tickets for the sporting events. These packages can cost as much as $500 for the preliminary rounds and as much as $4,000 for the championship match.
Team Ghana is currently at French city of Strasbourg with 9 athletes preparing for the event which runs from July 26 – August 8, 2024.
