The Chief Executive Officer, CEO, of the Chamber of Independent Power Producers, Ghana, Dr. Elikplim Kwabla Apetorgbor has donated 20 streetlights to the University of Allied Sciences, UHAS.
The streetlights worth 14 thousand Cedis will help improve campus lighting and enhance security.
The gesture addresses a critical illumination issue on campus, which directly impacts the safety and well-being of the university community.
Vice President of UHAS Alumni, Jemima Misonu Akporlu who presented the lights on behalf of Dr. Apetorgbor, highlighted a recent incident where four students were attacked by unknown assailants while returning to their hostel from campus.
The Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Lydia Aziato who received the streetlights expressed gratitude to Dr. Apetorgbor and assured that the lights would be promptly installed to boost campus security and improve night-time visibility.
Prof. Aziato also took the opportunity to appeal to other organizations and benevolent individuals to support the University.
The opportunity was also used to introduce the UHAS SONAM Alumini Executives comprising; Mr. Obed Kweku Amenyo the President, Ms. Mary Adaeze Udeoha (Secretary) Mr. Fabian Normenyo Etse (Financial Secretary) and Mr. Julius Okine (Organiser).
Also present were the Registrar, Ms. Yaa Amankwaa Opuni, and Prof. Frank Edwin, Dean of the School of Medicine.
