Seven Firefighters, from the Kade Fire Station, have been involved in an accident at the Otwenkwanta on the outskirts of Kade in the Eastern Region.
In a statement signed by the Director of Public Relations of the Ghana National Fire Service, ACFO I Timothy Osafo-Affum, the crew were involved in the accident while responding to an emergency.
Five of the seven firefighters are currently responding to treatment at the Akwatia St. Dominic Hospital, while the other two who are in critical conditions have been admitted at the Kade Government Hospital. Fortunately, one Officer escaped unhurt.
ACFO I Timothy Osafo-Affum says, the cause of the accident is under investigation. The management of the Ghana Fire Service said, the Service remains committed to serving the public and ensuring the safety and wellbeing of its personnel.
Management wishes the injured firefighters a speedy recovery.
