Ghana midfielder Thomas Partey has shed light on the mentality that he possesses as he continues to battle injuries issues in his football career.
He said this after featuring in a friendly game between Arsenal and fellow English Premier League side AFC Bournemouth in preseason.
Arsenal won the game 5-4 on penalties with Partey starting the contest as he is line to start in Arsenal’s opening game of the 2024-2025 season against Wolves on August 17 at the Emirates Stadium.
Partey missed almost the entire campaign last season but returned to close out the season as Arsenal finished two points off EPL Champions Manchester City.
“It’s life. Things happen and sometimes they are things you cannot control but I have to keep going and keep fighting. Every time I fall, I have to get up and fight back. That’s the mentality I have. I also think that any time I can help the team, that is what I have to do.”
Partey’s injury issues forced him to miss the 2023 AFCON in Cote D’Ivoire; the former Atletico Madrid player added that Arsenal need to be confident to compete with the best. (Click highlighted text to read full story)
