The Ghana Police Service says the Inspector-General of Police, IGP has assured the family of the 24-year-old Lois Abena Koranteng who died in a hotel at Takoradi on 8th June 2024 to work closely with them as an investigation into the incident continues.
In a statement by the Police following an uproar from the family of the deceased showing displeasure about the autopsy result, the IGP yesterday placed a phone call to the family to apologize to them for the lack of adequate information and update on their investigation.
The statement says the deceased was found in a pool of blood on the 8th of June, 2024 at a hotel when the Police arrived at the scene upon receiving a distress call.
She was sent to a hospital but died upon arrival.
The Pathologist who conducted an autopsy on the body revealed the cause of the death as, asphyxia, severe pulmonary edema, and drowning in a pool.
The family rejected the result and has been calling on the Police for further investigation.
