President Akufo-Addo Unveils Agenda 111 Hospital Projects, Promising 67,000 Jobs

President Akufo-Addo has announced that the completion of the government’s ambitious Agenda 111 hospital projects will generate approximately 67,000 jobs across the country. Emphasising the transformative potential of this initiative, President Akufo-Addo highlighted that each hospital is set to employ over 100 individuals, marking a significant milestone in healthcare accessibility and job creation.

Speaking at the commissioning ceremony of the Adansi North Hospital in Fomena, Ashanti Region, President Akufo-Addo reaffirmed the government’s commitment to seeing the Agenda 111 projects through to completion. He provided specific employment figures, stating, “Upon completion, an average of 559 people will be employed in each district hospital, 1,343 in each regional hospital, and 947 in each psychiatric institution. Additionally, there are 120 workers on each building site. This means the Agenda 111 hospitals will collectively employ 67,635 people.”

The Agenda 111 hospital project is a flagship initiative of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government, aimed at significantly improving healthcare access across Ghana.

In a related development, President Akufo-Addo officially inaugurated the 120-bed Fomena Hospital project in the Adansi North District of the Ashanti Region. The project had faced delays since 2014 due to financial challenges, causing concern among local residents of the Adansi Traditional Area, who had repeatedly called for its completion.

During the inauguration event, President Akufo-Addo highlighted that the completion of the hospital is a testament to the government’s dedication to providing state-of-the-art medical facilities that meet national healthcare standards. He remarked, “The completion of this hospital demonstrates our commitment to delivering modern healthcare infrastructure to all parts of Ghana.”

This move not only addresses the pressing healthcare needs of the nation but also significantly boosts employment, showcasing the dual benefits of the Agenda 111 initiative.
