Local Organizing Committee (LOC) Chairman of the 2023 African Games, Dr. Kwaku Ofosu Asare, has called for sports administrators to adopt the public-private partnership model to best utilize sports facilities in Ghana.
He said this in an interview with Channel One Sports on the final day of the 2024 Channel One TV National Swimming Championship held at the Borteyman Sports Complex.
After expressing his “super excitement” over the consistent use of the facility after the 2023 African games in lieu of the Swimming Championship, Dr. Ofosu Asare called for the adoption of the aforementioned model. (Click highlighted text to read full story)
“I keep saying that these facilities if they are going to be well utilized, we must have the PPP Model, the Private-Public Partnership. Channel One TV is a private company and you have partnered with the Swimming Federation (for this event) and this partnership is extremely important. All we have to do is to ensure sustainability.”
The second edition of the Channel One TV National Swimming Championship had Legon Sharks win the competition with 2023 winners Marlins finish third.
